Inspirational speakers, awesome performers, hands-on workshops, autograph signings, photo opps, and a CONGA LINE?!

BIG BIG THANK YOU to Service Unit 631 who originally discovered Cheryl's "Like A Girl" video on YouTube, learned all of the lyrics, and re-posted their own video singing along.  Cheryl found the video via Twitter, and soon after received an invitation to join GirlPop2015 for an unforgettable experience!

May 16, 2015 was one for the GSEP memory books. If you didn't get a chance to attend every moment of#GirlPOP2015, you missed out on an amazing day of inspiring and contagious girl power. Like the motivating story of Vivienne Harr - an eleven year old whose dream of ending childhood slavery started with one lemonade stand and has now turned into an international nonprofit that has raised over $100,000. Then there was the impromptu singing duet with Jenna Bush Hager and Siena, a courageous Girl Scout with some serious vocal chops!

GSEP fave Cheryl LuQuire not only performed her amazing song "Like a Girl," but also spent the whole day taking pics and interacting with girls. Fun workshops gave girls a chance to speak with female experts in everything from math to sports to fashion and more. And at the Hall of Experiences, girls met animals from Philadelphia Zoo, made colorful cupcakes with Crayola Factory, created songs with School of Rock, just to name a few! Camp staff held down the fort at Camp #GirlPOP2015 where girls got a little taste of life at GSEP's summer camps.

The day ended with energetic and captivating presentations from Little League phenom, Mo'ne Davis, who also signed copies of her new book; Shiza Shahid, co-founder of the Malala Fund, who talked about her experiences working with and supporting Malala Yousafazi's mission to help girls around the world get an education; and NASA's Dr. Aprille Ericsson, who got us all on our feet with a fun and interactive presentation about the exciting world of science. The day wouldn't have been complete without a dance party! Audra McLaughlin and Matthew Schuler got everyone on their feet to close out the day.

We're so excited for Cheryl's message to empower girls of all ages to be kind and courageous and to always have as much fun as possible!  Thank you to GSEP for your wonderful hospitality!
